About Making Life Resilient

As a child I experienced a near fatal accident that I survived against all odds.  While I had no control of or a hand in the outcome, the fact that I survived is an illustration of resilience.   Resilience is the ability or trait that individuals call on to help deal with stressful situations.  The ability to cope with the problems and setbacks we all face an bounce back.  I survived that accident due to the actions of others involved in the healing process.  This shows that resilience doesn’t totally come from within.  Resilience also comes from those around us like family, friends, associates and your circumstances.  Those who are involved enough to affect the process.  In that respect resilience depends on having others help us to cope with the situation or event.   A support group and a positive perspective.  My drive is to learn to develop more skills toward resilience in my own life and to share this knowledge with others.
